ESU students kicked off finals week with the traditional Late Night event in the Memorial Union. ESU administrators and Police & Safety officers worked in the Hornets Nest so students had energy for studying!

ESU Campus to Close, Foundation Open During Holiday Break

The Emporia State University Foundation will be open during the last week of the year to accept end-of-year gifts. The rest of campus, however, will be closed between 5:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20 and 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020.


Kansas Teachers Achieve Repeat Certification

Students across the state will benefit from having 12 teachers who recently achieved the highest honor of the teaching profession for a second or third time.

Dr. Joan Brewer, ESU interim dean of The Teachers College and professor of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, co-wrote “Splash, Spin, Sprint,” a school curriculum for ages 6 through 12. Launched by USA Triathlon, the curriculum is a esource for physical educators as well as a call-to-action to address the growing health problems related to physical inactivity and obesity among American youth. Billy Mills Middle School in Lawrence is piloting the program.


Malcolm Dade Set for Success in Business Career

In May 2019, first-generation student Malcolm Dade walked across the stage at White Auditorium and followed in the steps of his older sisters to become one of the first members of his family to receive a college degree.



ESU Theatre Presents Radio Play of 'A Christmas Carol'

Nov. 27, 2019 College of Liberal Arts & Sciences

Emporia State University Theatre’s fourth annual radio performance of “A Christmas Carol,” the timeless classic by Charles Dickens, will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 in the Karl C. Bruder Theatre. The performance will be streamed online, but it can also be watched live in the theatre. A suggested donation of $5 or a contribution of stable food items can be made at the door for the live performance. Donations and food items will be contributed to Corky’s Cupboard.
