Emporia State Winter Break Begins Thursday

Because of the impending dangerous weather forecast for Thursday and Friday, the Emporia State University campus will shut down early for winter break.


ESU Foundation Open to Accept Year-End Gifts

Given that many donors choose to make a gift during the month of December, ESU Foundation Staff will be available on call Dec. 27 through 31, and the Sauder Alumni Center, 1500 Highland St., will be open on Dec. 27 and 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Fall News From the National Teachers Hall of Fame

Class of 2020 Inductee Dr. Melissa Collins is the 2022-2023 Tennessee Teacher of the Year. Collins is a second-grade teacher at John P. Freeman Optional School in Memphis-Shelby County Schools in Memphis where she has taught since 1995. Collins will represent Tennessee in the National Teacher of the Year competition and serve as an ambassador for education in the state throughout the 2022-23 school year.


Hall of Fame Representatives to Honor Newtown Memorial

Three representatives from The National Teachers Hall of Fame will travel to Newtown, Connecticut, on Wednesday to pay tribute to the Sandy Hook educators and lay a wreath at the new memorial dedicated in November in Newtown.


Brent Thomas Named ESU’s New Provost, Vice President

ESU Opens Four Venues for First Friday Art Walk
