Campus Closed August 11 for Power Repairs

Emporia State University will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 11, to make needed repairs to the campus electrical system. During the closure — between 6 a.m. Aug. 11 to 6 a.m. Aug. 12 — the campus will have no power. All buildings will be closed and locked.

Pete Rydberg New Director of Theatre

The new director of theatre at Emporia State University brings to campus his expertise in theatre history, acting, directing, devised theatre, theatre for social justice, and public speaking. Dr. Pete Rydberg is also certified in fight directing with a specialty in unarmed, rapier and dagger, broadsword.


New Chair in Business Brings Depth of Experience

A professor with a wide breadth of experience beyond accounting is the new chair of the Accounting, Information Systems, and Finance Department in the School of Business at Emporia State University. Dr. Mary Teal assumes the role Monday, July 20.


International Student Enrollment Restrictions Lifted

I am very pleased to tell you that the federal government today rescinded its guidance that would have forced Emporia State international students to leave the United States if we must move to remote classes. The guidance, originally issued July 6, was rescinded to resolve a federal lawsuit brought by Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.



Summer Internship Dream Come True — Even Working From Home
