Women’s History Month Reception and Awards Ceremony

12 Students Qualify for National PBL Conference

Twelve Emporia State students are headed to Baltimore for national competition after earning awards at the 2018 Kansas State Leadership Conference. The students were among 14 members of ESU’s chapter of Phi Beta Lambda who traveled to Butler Community College in El Dorado for the event. During the conference, James Willingham, coordinator of graduate and career services in the ESU School of Business, was recognized as PBL State Advisor of the Year.


JV Debaters Compete at Johnson County

A junior varsity debate duo showed well at the National Junior Division Debate Tournament hosted by Johnson County Community College last weekend. Only Novice and Junior-Varsity debaters are eligible to compete for a shot at the championship.


Graduate Students to Present at Capitol Research Summit

On Tuesday, March 27, the 15th Annual Capitol Graduate Research Summit will take place. This event will highlight research conducted by graduate researchers across the state, including five from Emporia State University.


Carissa McAfee Wins 2018 Emporia Entrepreneur Challenge

An Emporia State business student from Valley Falls won the 2018 Emporia Entrepreneur Challenge on Tuesday. Carissa McAfee was among 17 teams from Emporia State University and one team from Flint Hills Technical College that presented their business proposals to a team of judges and the community during the event.
