Debate Team Ranks Well Among State Peers

Out of 84 participating schools nationwide, Emporia State University finished No. 14 on the National Debate Tournament Ranking Report after accruing 246 points. This put the Hornets collectively ahead of fantastic competitors from schools such as Harvard, Dartmouth and Georgetown among others. Additionally, out of 16 schools participating in ESU’s district, Emporia State University finished No. 3 on the list, edging out in-state rivals Wichita State (No. 10) and Kansas State (No. 14).



King’s Legacy Fills Week at ESU Campus

Emporia State University will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the week of January 22. Events include two special speakers and a candlelight vigil.



Kansas Teachers Achieve National Board Certification

Twenty-five Kansas educators are among the more than 4,000 nationwide who achieved the highest professional credential they can earn — they attained first-time certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in 2017.
