An Emporia State business administration student took third place in the Kansas Entrepreneurship Challenge recently. Kendra Kratzberg, a senior from New Strawn, earned $1,000 for her idea “ShowUP.”

A new program in Emporia State’s School of Business will help students in all majors with entrepreneurial goals. The Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship prepares students with the mindset, skills and resources to launch a business in their area of interest.


ESU Students Compete in International Entrepreneurial Competition

A team of four students from Kansas, China and Slovakia will move on to regional competition in the international Hult Prize competition. The team took first place in the OnCampus Hult competition at Emporia State University last month.


Cecil O’Brate, Walter Beech Inducted Into Kansas Business Hall of Fame

Cecil O’Brate and the late Walter Beech have been announced as the 2020 Kansas Business Hall of Fame inductees. This marks the 32nd year of inductions into the Kansas Business Hall of Fame, located at Emporia State University in the School of Business’ Cremer Hall.


ESU Students Place Well at National PBL Event

Emporia State students brought home top 10 finishes from competitions at the national Phi Beta Lambda virtual leadership event held in late June. Originally set for June 24 through 27 in Salt Lake City, the COVID-19 pandemic moved the event to a one-day virtual experience.


New Chair in Business Brings Depth of Experience

A professor with a wide breadth of experience beyond accounting is the new chair of the Accounting, Information Systems, and Finance Department in the School of Business at Emporia State University. Dr. Mary Teal assumes the role Monday, July 20.


Summer Internship Dream Come True — Even Working From Home

Ryan Wagner, a senior marketing student at Emporia State University from Silver Lake, landed the internship of his dreams — working for Stamford Media Center as a digital marketing and operations intern. The current environment and COVID-19 restrictions haven’t stopped him from getting an amazing experience, despite doing all of his work from home in Emporia.


Business School Waives GMAT for Summer, Fall 2020

To help prospective students who want to work toward graduate degrees, the School of Business at Emporia State University is waiving the Graduate Management Admissions Test requirement for those who apply for summer and fall 2020 terms.
