Emporia State University is offering students more opportunities to attend exciting, hands-on STEM camps this summer.
From Tuesday, July 21, through Friday, July 24, students entering sixth through ninth grades can attend Inspired by STEM. This camp, a partnership between ESU’s STEM Outreach and Cybersecurity Research and Outreach Center, features sessions on space, life and earth sciences, media and technology, with hands-on experiences in robotics, coding, engineering and other real-world STEM applications. Held in ESU’s Science Hall, activities run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The camp is $125 per student and includes a T-shirt, daily snacks, session materials, giveaways and a family lunch and program on the final day. Space is extremely limited. The Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center has additional openings in its Science Summer Camps for students ages 11 to 12 and 13 to 14. The fee is $125 per student and includes snacks and a T-shirt. These interactive learning experiences include exploring nature mysteries, conducting water quality experiments and learning about native plants and animals up close.
Students ages 11 to 12 will meet Tuesday, July 7, through Friday, July 10. Students ages 13 to 14 will meet Tuesday, July 14, through Friday, July 17. Both camps are hosted at PAROC from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. To reserve a spot, register online at esuparoc.com.
