Finalists for Business Dean Set to Visit Campus

Three finalists for the position of dean of Emporia State University’s School of Business will visit the campus during the next two weeks. Each candidate’s visit will include a community reception and individual meetings with the search committee and campus administrators as well as an open forum with various constituencies, including faculty, staff and students of the School of Business and the Emporia community.

Dr. Paul Mason, Richard de Raismes Kip Endowed Professor of Economics and local economic indicator project director at the University of North Florida, will visit Jan. 21 through 23. Mason will meet with School of Business faculty and staff, Emporia State employees and community members on Friday, Jan. 22, at 1:30 p.m. for an open forum in the Cross Conference Room, 204 Cremer Hall. A community reception for Mason will be held at the Emporia Arts Center, 815 Commercial St., at 5 p.m. that evening.

Dr. Timothy Jares, professor of finance at the University of Northern Colorado, will visit Jan. 24 through 26. Jares will meet with School of Business faculty and staff, Emporia State employees and community members on Monday, Jan. 25, at 1:15 pm for an open forum in the Cross Conference Room, 204 Cremer Hall. A community reception for Jares will be held at the Emporia Arts Center, 815 Commercial St., at 5 p.m. that evening.

Dr. Ed Bashaw, dean of the College of Business at Arkansas Tech University, will visit Jan. 26 through 28. Bashaw will meet with School of Business faculty and staff, Emporia State employees and community members on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 1:30 p.m. for an open forum in the Cross Conference Room, 204 Cremer Hall.  A community reception for Bashaw will be held at the Emporia Arts Center, 815 Commercial St., at 5 p.m. that evening.

Curricula vitae, cover letters and photographs of each candidate as well as individual survey forms and detailed visit schedules are posted on the business dean search page of the Emporia State University website, http://www.emporia.edu/businessdeansearch. Surveys will open the day the candidate arrives to Emporia and close at 11:59 p.m. the day of their departure.
