Emporia State to Host Third Annual LCL Art Exhibit Reception

Emporia State will host the third annual Lyon County League High Schools Art Exhibit opening reception on Thursday, Feb. 25 at the John T. and Connie S. Staton Art Gallery on the second floor in the Memorial Union. Thursday’s opening reception takes place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the LCL High Schools Art Exhibit will remain on display until March 8.

John T. and Connie S. Staton’s vision for the John T. and Connie S. Staton Art Gallery is to give high school students the exposure of showcasing their art at Emporia State University. It also gives students an opportunity to experience Emporia State campus life while still in high school. Originally from St. John, Kansas, John T. Staton’s lifelong dedication to Emporia State was recently recognized, as he was named one of four recipients of the 2016 University Service Citation award. To read more about John T.
