ESU ALERT: WINTER WEATHER Due to current weather conditions and hazardous road conditions, Emporia State University will be closed on Monday, January 26. All classes, events and on-campus activities are canceled for the day. Only essential personnel who have been previously designated should report to work as directed by their supervisor. Classes are expected to resume as normal on Tuesday, January 27. The University will continue to monitor conditions and will provide additional updates if necessary. Please use caution and prioritize your safety.

Commencement Ceremonies Planned for Saturday

Nearly 550 students are candidates for degrees during winter commencement at Emporia State University on Saturday, Dec. 17.

Undergraduates will receive their degrees during baccalaureate ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. at White Auditorium, 111 E. Sixth Ave. At 2 p.m., graduate students will be hooded at Albert Taylor Hall in Plumb Hall on the Emporia State campus.

Dr. Blake Flanders, president and CEO of the Kansas Board of Regents, will give remarks during both ceremonies. Dr. Marshall Sundberg, biological sciences professor and 2016 Roe R. Cross Distinguished Professor, will address the undergraduates.
