Two awards will be presented during the award and recognition ceremony on Research and Creativity Day on Thursday, April 28, at Emporia State University.
“Youth Advancing Social Justice: How to Be a Changemaker” is the theme of the 2022 Bonner and Bonner Diversity Lecture: Civic Leadership for the Common Good. The event on Thursday, March 3, features Autumn Rose Miskweminanocsqua (Raspberry Star Woman) Williams, who was raised on the Shinnecock Reservation in Southampton, New York.
Because of weather, Emporia State University will open at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3. All classes and activities scheduled before that time are cancelled.

Campus space optimization is the second Kansas Board of Regents goal that Emporia State University is aligning itself to meet. Today, Cory Falldine is being promoted to chief information officer and vice president for infrastructure at ESU. He reports directly to Interim President Ken Hush. Bill McKernan, currently facilities director, is being promoted to executive director of University Facilities.
A familiar face will fill a new position at Emporia State University that is tasked with enrollment growth. Dr. Shelly Gehrke is being promoted to vice president for enrollment management and student success effective today and will report directly to Interim President Ken Hush.
More than 500 Emporia State University students are candidates for degrees during winter commencement ceremonies at White Auditorium on Dec. 17 and 18.
The Kansas Board of Regents in its action meeting today, Wednesday, November 17, 2021, approved three components related to the search for our next president. The actions are:
Inclusive Excellence is the theme at Emporia State University on Monday, Nov. 1, during an afternoon of presentations for both the campus and Emporia communities.
The Kansas Board of Regents just announced that Provost George Arasimowicz will serve as our acting president, beginning October 16. The board will take action on naming an interim president at a future Regents meeting.
