Peterson Planetarium explores weather wonders in April

The weather in Kansas is as dynamic as it is unpredictable, and as snow and ice give way to scorching heat and thunderstorms, ESU’s Peterson Planetarium invites viewers on a wild weather ride with the showing of “Weather: Wonders & Mysteries Revealed” throughout April.

The fulldome presentation covers Earth’s fascinating meteorological phenomena including thunderstorms, tornadoes, space weather and auroras. Viewers will be immersed in weather patterns and atmospheric science as they explore clouds, seasonal changes and extreme weather including blizzards and hurricanes.

The 30-minute show also includes an exploration of the night sky over Emporia with Mark Brown, director of the Peterson Planetarium, followed by a Q&A session.

Peterson Planetarium is located in ESU’s Science Hall, Room 031. Seating is limited and each attendee must register individually at emporia.edu/planetarium.
