Student Health Services Meningitis Policy
All students living on campus must be vaccinated to protect from bacterial meningitis
STUDENT HEALTH SERVICE MENINGITIS VACCINATION POLICY
Emporia State University requires that all students living in campus housing be vaccinated to protect from bacterial meningitis. There is a waiver option for those with medical, religious or other exemptions.
To meet the vaccination requirement you must have one dose of Menactra or Menveo given on or after the 16th birthday. Please bring documentation from your doctor or clinic to your Hornet Connection, or send it to the Student Wellness Center by June 1st. You will not be assigned a room until you have fulfilled this requirement.
If you have medical, religious or other exemptions from this requirement, you must read about the seriousness of bacterial meningitis and sign the refusal of vaccination waiver. This form is online via our secure health portal and can be accessed from the “Medical Forms” link on our home page.
Should you have any questions, please contact the Student Wellness Center at 620-341-5222.
