Special Collections & Archives

Welcome to Special Collections & Archives

We are the repository for records and artifacts of permanent, historical value produced or received by Emporia State University that pertain to its development and functions and/or represent it in its regional, national and global context.

Some of the resources Special Collections and Archives contains include the records of administrative and academic offices of the University, graduate reports and dissertations, university publications, artifacts and memorabilia of campus life, athletic events, performances and exhibits, manuscript collections of faculty, alumni and community members, and rare books.

Summer 2025: Beginning on Wednesday, May 14, Special Collections and Archives will make some adjustments for the summer due to HVAC work in William Allen White Library. As the north side of the building will be closed, visitors will enter SC&A through the south entrance or the southwest entrance, which has an accessible ramp. For access, call 620-341-6431. SC&A will remain open 8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday, and research services will continue, although the May Massee Collection will be unavailable during this time.
