Nurse camp

Give your student a hands-on introduction to the world of healthcare at Emporia State University’s Nursing Camp! This interactive experience introduces participants to nursing fundamentals, basic CPR, first aid and more in a fun, engaging environment. Led by ESU faculty and staff in the state-of-the-art Nursing and Wellness Building, students will explore real-world skills, and discover what a future in healthcare could look like.

A registration form must be completed for each child who plans to attend the ESU Nursing Camp. Registration must be completed prior to May 13, 2026. This event is free of charge.

The camp will take place on Wednesday, May 27, at ESU's Nursing and Student Wellness Building, 1400 Morse Drive.

Session 1 (9:00 to 11:30) for incoming 6-8th graders. These future nurses can be dropped off between 8:30 and 9 am.

Session 2 (1:00-3:30) for incoming 9-12th graders. These future nurses can be dropped off between 12:30 and 1 pm.

Please have your child bring a water bottle with their name. A small snack will be provided. If you have any questions, please contact nursing@emporia.edu.

Participation in any program which involves activity can expose my child(ren) to certain risks and dangers. Accidents and injuries are always a possibility, and it is impossible to foresee and protect my child(ren) from all conceivable dangers. I hereby affirm that my child(ren) has/have no conditions that would make it unsafe for him/her/them to participate in the camps activities. By signing this Waiver and Release of Liability, with full appreciation of the risk involved, on my own behalf and on behalf of my child(ren), I hereby voluntarily release and forever discharge Emporia State University, its trustees, officers, employees, agents, insurers and contractors from any and all legal or financial responsibility for any personal injury, disability, illness, damage, medical expense or death, arising from or related to my child(ren)’s participation in Nurse Camp. I agree, for myself and my child(ren), not to make any type of legal or equitable claim on the school, or any of its trustees, officers, employees, agents, insurers or contractors with respect to any injury I or my child(ren) may suffer, whether or not it arises through the negligence, omission, default or other action of anyone affiliated with the school, including other campers. I further agree that if any such claim is made, I will indemnify and defend the school with respect to any such claim, injury, or damage.
