Application Process for military + veteran students

Military Personnel or Veterans using their educational benefits select non-traditional students when applying to Emporia State. If you do not plan on using your benefits, select first-time undergraduate or transfer students.  Follow the admissions process link to apply:

Follow these Steps to Apply for VA Educational Benefits for the First Time: ​

  • Step One: go https://www.va.gov/
  • Step Two: click on apply for educational benefits
  • Step Three: Click on the green button under “How do I apply?”

Additional Information

  1. You will need your DD-214 if you are veteran applying for benefits for the first time.​
  2. All new military applicants should submit their joint service transcripts along with any other transcripts attained from previous colleges for review.​
  3. All veteran applicants should submit their DD-214 member number 4 (long version) to registrar for evaluation. (see contact tab)​
  4. If you are using Chapter 35 benefits for the first time, connect with the schools certifying official (see contact tab).​
  5. After the application process, for first time users, provide your certificate of eligibility to the school certifying official (see contact tab).  ​
