WHY EMPORIA STATE UNIVERSITY
Emporia State offers big school amenities with all the benefits of a small school. Students can get involved in 100+ student organizations and activities, take advantage of academic programs and connect with others from around the world.
In their classes, Hornets get access to experiences typically reserved for upperclassmen at other institutions such as faculty/student research, state-of-the-art equipment usage, mentorship programs, talent scholarships and more.
Hands-on, real-world learning experiences are part of the curriculum, no matter what degree program they choose, so they’ll start building skills and their resume from the very beginning of their academic career. Whether they’re creating marketing plans for local businesses, tagging deer in Wyoming, studying fishes in the Bahamas, directing original compositions, student teaching in Paraguay or doing research at the campus aquatic center, the opportunities available to put theory into practice are unmatched.
Our residence halls are top-notch. With two brand-new facilities and tons of amenities no matter which hall they choose, students can find their home away from home. Beyond free laundry, access to community kitchens, dedicated study areas and more, students will have tons of opportunities to build relationships and connect with their floor- and building-mates so they have a dedicated support system to come back to at the end of every day. Not to mention, being on campus lets them be where all the action is for campus activities and events.
Our grads go places. Over the last four years, 95% of students were hired for a job in their field or went on to advanced study within six months of graduation. That’s thanks to our commitment to help students go from classroom to career by helping them take advantage of internship opportunities (70% of Hornets do one!), conferences, job fairs and more.
