Alex McDaniel
2021-22 Outstanding Recent Graduate
Alex McDaniel of Chicago worked as a wholesale consultant after receiving his BS in business administration in 2007, then returned in 2009 to ESU to earn an MBA in 2011.
After grad school, he became a management consultant with KPMG, specializing in technology implementations before shifting to a career advising on corporate mergers and acquisitions.
McDaniel guides clients on assessing companies across technology, operations, and post-acquisition value creation to form a plan to improve company performance. Following the acquisition, McDaniel leads the strategic roadmap development and implementation of enterprise-wide programs that span corporate culture, operational and technological capabilities, and business processes.

Giving back
Outside of work, Alex McDaniel is involved in several non-profit organizations, including The Recyclery, a program that repairs discarded bicycles and redistributes them to those who cannot afford to buy one. Bikes are also sold to support community programs oriented towards women and LGBTQ communities. He also works with the Lakeview Pantry to provide food to people in need.
