ESU String Academy Teaches Children

Emporia-area children who want to learn to play stringed instruments are doing so with a new string academy from the Department of Music at Emporia State University. Stringfully opened its doors in March, offering group lessons for violin, viola and cello as well as music theory. Every Thursday evening Beach Hall is filled with music and children.




ESU Launches Ethnic, Gender, Identity Studies Major

A new major in Emporia State’s Interdisciplinary Studies Program provides a working knowledge that will be valuable to hiring companies and to creating change within communities. The ethnic, gender and identity major is ideal for people who are interested in a variety of careers and who want to make a difference in their world, especially in areas of social justice, diversity and inclusion, equality and human rights.


Three Honored with Awards for Womxn’s History Month

ESU Theatre Presents Sarah DeLappe’s ‘The Wolves’ for Spring Production

Emporia State University Theatre presents Sarah DeLappe's “The Wolves” as its first spring 2021 show. Three performances will be live-streamed from the Frederickson Blackbox Theatre via emporia.booktix.com. Performances are at 7:30 p.m Friday, March 5, and Saturday, March 6, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 7. All times are Central Standard. The production runs 90 minutes.
