SLIM Opens New Program in Boise

Boise, Idaho, is the newest branch of Emporia State’s library science program offered through the School of Library and Information Management.

Accepting its first group of students for fall 2019, Boise is the eighth program offered by the university. Other locations are the home campus in Emporia plus Overland Park, Kansas; Denver, Colorado; Portland, Oregon; Salt Lake City, Utah; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Las Vegas, Nevada.

SLIM’s master of library science program offers a hybrid format. Online instruction, discussions and assignments are combined with two face-to-face sessions each semester scheduled for Friday night and all day Saturday. These classes offer direct interaction between fellow students, faculty and the regional director.

SLIM also offers Emporia State’s only doctoral program, a Ph.D. in library and information management. This program is offered at the Emporia, Kansas, campus.

For more information about the Boise cohort, contact the regional director, Dale Monobe, at dmonobe@emporia.edu or 801-946-5265 or go online to https://www.emporia.edu/slim/regionallocations/boise-id.
