Applications are being accepted for teachers and librarians wanting to earn certification in information, technology and scientific literacy. The first of four courses will be offered in spring 2016.
The project — STEM ALL: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics: Information, Technology and Scientific Literacy for All Learners, is a collaboration of the School of Library and Information Management and Department of Physical Sciences at Emporia State University and funded by a $496,277 grant from the 2015 Laura Bush 21st Century Library.
The grant covers tuition, books and travel during the three-year program for 50 eligible participants — 25 K-12 teachers of science, technology, engineering and mathematics and 25 librarians. Applications also will be accepted from undergraduate and graduate students preparing to teach in classrooms or library. And other teachers and librarians are also encouraged to apply.
