The purpose of these awards is to acknowledge outstanding graduate assistants (GAs, GTAs, & GRAs) for their contributions to their individual field and their efforts in promoting the values of Emporia State University as a whole. Recipients of the award will receive $750 in recognition of their outstanding performance and will be listed on the Graduate School’s website.

The award may be received by up to three qualified graduate assistants per year (across all appointments). Multiple awards, or no awards, may be issued for any given year. The Graduate School will solicit recommendations for qualified candidates from faculty/staff members, department chairs, graduate assistants, or students at the beginning of the spring semester.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for this award, each graduate candidate must:
  • Have a cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0
  • Have completed at least one semester as a GA/GTA/GRA
  • Have a signed appointment for the issuing semester
  • Have contributed above and beyond the general expectations of the position
  • Have not previously received the award
