Dr. Heather Caswell holds a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction and is a National Board Certified Teacher in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy: Reading-Language Arts. Dr. Caswell earned a BS in Elementary Education and a MS in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in literacy and writing instruction. Dr. Caswell is English as a Second Language endorsed and is a NBPTS Certified Candidate Support Provider for National Board for Professional Teaching Standards candidates.

A Teacher of Promise and Horizon Award recipient, Dr. Caswell has seven years of teaching experience in early childhood and elementary classrooms as well as experience supervising preservice teachers in various pK-12 educational settings. As a National Writing Project Teacher Consultant and Co-Site Director of the Flint Hills Writing Project, she has presented at the international, national, state, and district levels focusing on creative and artistic process, writing process, literacy, visual literacy, family literacy, authentic assessments and adult learning. In 2016, she received the Excellence in Service Award from The Teachers College.
