August 2021: RESIDENTIAL LIFE STUDENT MOVE-IN

Information for students living on campus in fall 2021

To protect the on-campus community from COVID-19, and the Delta variant, Residential Life will follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and local public health regarding quarantine and isolation.

Unvaccinated Residents - Mandatory Testing Requirement:

As the university has learned more about the risks associated with the COVID-19 Delta variant, updated requirements have been established for our unvaccinated residents that need to be followed and performed prior to move-in.

  • These students MUST provide documentation of a negative COVID-19 test that was performed within 72 hours of the move-in time.
  • Do not travel to campus if you are positive for COVID 19. If you have not uploaded a negative test and you test positive upon arrival, you will not be able to move in.

We encourage every resident living in on-campus housing to become fully vaccinated to protect themselves and to guard against any spread of COVID-19 in our communities.

Fully Vaccinated Residents – Upload COVID 19 Record:

Fully vaccinated residents who have their COVID vaccination record on file with Student Health Services will be exempt from exposure or travel-related quarantine if the student remains asymptomatic.

Additional considerations will be made for individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the six (6) months prior to residence hall move-in.
