Dr. Mike Butler received a BS and MS in kinesiology from California State University Fullerton and his PhD in Motor Behavior from Auburn University.
He began teaching at Emporia State in 1994. Dr. Butler is a member of the Kansas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (KAHPERD), Shape America and has belonged to North American Society for Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity. He is a Research Fellow with Shape America and has received the Kathy Ermler Technology Award from KAHPERD. In 2000, he received the Excellence in Scholarly Activity Award from The Teachers College.
His teaching and research areas include motor learning, biomechanics, and statistics.
