I’m an educational psychologist and my research focuses on motivation in education. I hold degrees from Northwestern University, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and Purdue University. I’ve been published in academic journals, such as Motivation and Emotion, and have written chapters in academic handbooks, including The Bloomsbury Handbook of Montessori Education and The Oxford Handbook of Educational Psychology. I present my research at national and international conferences.

I have been a proud member of Hornet Nation since 2019 and I teach developmental, educational, and cognitive psychology courses for undergraduate and graduate students. I direct the online Masters of Psychology in Educational Psychology program and the SMILE Lab, where we Study Motivation in Learning Environments. I also co-advise the Psychology Club with Dr. Keith Wylie.
