Indian Artifact Collections
The museum has an impressive display of indian stone artifacts. The display is the result of combining the two large Claude Hawkins and Edward J. Calkins collections. There are hundreds of examples of stone projectile points, grindstones, hammers, axe and hatchet blades, spades, hoes, scrapers, drills, knives, polishing stones, and decorative ornaments. In addition to the collections there is a display of the types of rock used to make these tools and an exhibit showing flaking techniques.
