Psychology Scholarships

In addition to other scholarships available through Emporia State University, and The Teachers College, there are scholarships allocated specifically to our majors each year.

Eligibility Criteria – One key criteria for each scholarship is that students cannot apply directly for any of these. Faculty must first nominate a candidate to the department Scholarship Committee. Contact the department for more information.

Carvajal Scholarship

Available to any psychology student, whether undergraduate or graduate.

$400

Coughenour Scholarship

Available to any psychology student, whether undergraduate or graduate. Must be dispersed as one annual award. First preference male, second preference female. Available every-other year to Psychology, alternates with Counselor Education. Available to Psychology in even years e.g., 18-19, 20-21, etc.

Davis Scholarship

Available to any psychology undergraduate student, preference to support research expenses including travel to present at conferences.

Dungan Scholarship

Available to any psychology student, whether undergraduate or graduate.

Fordham Scholarship

Available to students pursuing a degree in education, this typically goes to a BSE psychology major.

Available to an academically worthy student earning a BSE psychology degree.

Karr Scholarship

Available to graduate student in School Psychology, awarded at the preference of the core faculty in that program. May be issued as more than one award.

Liepold Scholarship

Available to any psychology student, whether undergraduate or graduate. May be dispersed as multiple awards. The committee usually issues this as 2-3 annual awards.

Levinson Scholarship

Must be dispersed as a single award to a graduate student in the I/O program (first preference) or to an undergraduate student pursuing the prerequisites to enter an I/O program.

The Teachers College Scholarship

Criteria determined by The Teachers College and approved by the dean. Typically, this award is split between the departments of HPER and Psychology.
