There are 30 shared credit hours between these two areas, students earn two graduate degrees in three years.

Our clinical counseling program has a long tradition of leadership and excellence within the counseling profession. We are at the forefront of meeting the future challenges in the mental health counseling profession as well as satisfying the criteria for certification and licensure.
Community Counseling Services
Services for treatment groups
Community Counseling Services (CCS) provides affordable counseling for treatment groups in a professional, quiet, and confidential setting. Services are provided by Counselors-in-Training (CITs) to residents of Emporia and surrounding communities. The CITs are under the supervision of credentialed faculty with counseling, research, and clinical supervision experience.

Rehabilitation & Disability Studies is available as a major and a minor. RSE offers students a comprehensive yet practical foundation of principles, strategies, and experiences to facilitate employability in the broad fields of rehabilitation and human services.

Licensed Addiction Counselor Credential
Graduates of the Rehabilitation & Disability Studies program can be eligible for the Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) credential in the state of Kansas.
School Counseling

The purpose of the school counseling program is to prepare counselors to provide support services at the elementary, middle and/or high school levels.
