As part of your studies at Emporia State University, you may be in a class requiring you to visit a K-12 school. To do so, you need to contact to Renee Salazar, the placement coordinator for ESU.
She places students from all areas of campus in observations, practicums, internships, tutoring placements in schools across the state of Kansas and parts of Missouri. This includes students in elementary education, library information science, modern languages, physical sciences, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, and school counseling. Even if you do not see the name of your area here, but you need to get into a school, please contact Renee.
Renee secures tutoring placements for the ED/EL 220 classes, monitors their performance, and assists the instructors when needed. She also hires tutors for the Family Literacy Program. These tutors are placed in the areas of Reading/Literacy (K -5th) and Math (K-9th).
Please print and complete the appropriate form below, then contact Renee to continue your progress to getting placed into a school to complete your requirement.
