Center for Early Childhood Education

The CECE, located in the Butcher Education Center at 15th and Merchant, strives to provide a high quality early childhood environment for children of ESU students, faculty, and the surrounding community.

The Teachers College Literacy Center

Literacy is the gateway to success in life. Literacy begins at birth and continues throughout adulthood. Literacy encompasses all modes of language: reading writing, speaking, listening, viewing, and visually representing. All of these modes are instrumental in the practices of The Teachers College Literacy Center.

The Great Plains Center for National Teacher Certification at ESU offers a program of professional development at no cost for teachers in Kansas going through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) assessment process.

The Teachers College Resource + Outreach Center

The Teachers College Resource and Outreach Center (TROC) offers a collection of children’s and young adult literature, professional books, and instructional resources for faculty and students to grow in knowledge about teaching and to plan instructional lessons.

Reading Recovery conference

Reading Recovery University Training Center

Reading Recovery is a short term, early intervention program designed for the lowest achievers in a first grade classroom. Our training center prepares to teachers to work in schools as a Reading Recovery teacher in order to bring students up to the level of literacy of their peers. ESU houses the only Reading Recovery University Training Center in Kansas.

Testing Center

ESU's Testing Center is certified by ETS to deliver ETS-sponsored tests, including TOEFL, Praxis, and many others. The testing facility is secure, using the same secure transmissions.
