Great Plains Center for National Teacher Certification
The Great Plains Center for National Teacher Certification at ESU offers a program of professional development at no cost for teachers in Kansas going through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) assessment process.
Kansas Masonic Literacy Center
Masons across the state of Kansas partnered with Emporia State University to create the Kansas Masonic Literary Center on the Emporia State campus. The $4 million gift to establish the KMLC was the largest in ESU history as of 2016. The KMLC opened in 2017.

Reading Recovery University Training Center
Reading Recovery is a short term, early intervention program designed for the lowest achievers in a first grade classroom. Our training center prepares to teachers to work in schools as a Reading Recovery teacher in order to bring students up to the level of literacy of their peers. ESU houses the only Reading Recovery University Training Center in Kansas.
