Center for Early Childhood Education

The CECE, located in the Butcher Education Center at 15th and Merchant, strives to provide a high quality early childhood environment for children of ESU students, faculty, and the surrounding community.

Community Counseling Services

Community Counseling Services (CCS) provides affordable counseling for individuals, couples, families, and groups in a professional, quiet, and confidential setting for residents of Emporia and surrounding communities.

Great Plains Center for National Teacher Certification

The Great Plains Center for National Teacher Certification at ESU offers a program of professional development at no cost for teachers in Kansas going through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) assessment process.

Kansas Masonic Literacy Center

Masons across the state of Kansas partnered with Emporia State University to create the Kansas Masonic Literary Center on the Emporia State campus. The $4 million gift to establish the KMLC was the largest in ESU history as of 2016. The KMLC opened in 2017.

Reading Recovery conference

Reading Recovery University Training Center

Reading Recovery is a short term, early intervention program designed for the lowest achievers in a first grade classroom. Our training center prepares to teachers to work in schools as a Reading Recovery teacher in order to bring students up to the level of literacy of their peers. ESU houses the only Reading Recovery University Training Center in Kansas.

Office of Field Placement & Licensure

We are here to help you with guidance and information in the areas of licensure, field experience, restricted licensure, student teaching, and coordination of the Family Literacy Program.

Resource Center

The Teachers College Resource Center offers a collection of children’s and young adult literature, professional books, and instructional resources for faculty and students to grow in knowledge about teaching and to plan instructional lessons.

School Counselor Center

The School Counselor Center assists school counselors with various needs, from consulting on any subject related to school counseling to providing crises consulting on-site or via technology services.

Testing Center

ESU's Testing Center is certified by ETS to deliver ETS-sponsored tests, including TOEFL, Praxis, and many others. The testing facility is secure, using the same secure transmissions.

University Copy Center

The copy center aims to help you represent your event, organization, and/or self in the best possible way through print materials.
