Master of Science in Instructional Design & Technology

 

Program of Study

 

This program is designed for teachers and professionals who wish to apply technology and related software to the instructional process to other fields. Components of the degree program include: instructional design, computer-authoring tools, software selection and maintenance, information access and delivery systems, and knowledge and skills related to staff development.

The program can be completed fully online, fully face-to-face, or a blend of the two environments.

Starting Fall 2018, core classes will be offered in a seven-week block format to allow students in the Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology program to complete the degree faster. With this option, students have the option of taking a maximum of 12 credit hours a semester, allowing them to complete their degree in three semesters (two semesters and summer). This format will only be available to those completing the degree online. Each block will be seven weeks followed by a one week break. The only class that will remain a 16 week course is the IT899 Masters Project in Instructional Design and Technology.

 Most face-to-face classes will continue to be offered in the regular 16 week format.

As part of the degree requirements, students will complete a comprehensive project. Upon successful completion of program requirements and other requirements outlined in the Graduate Catalog and on this sheet, the student will be awarded the degree Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology.

Note: Students admitted to this program will require the use of an updated personal computer and software to complete course requirements.  These requirements will vary by class and evolve with the latest technology developments.  Please consult your instructors for specific technology requirements for each class.
