Distance Partnership Programs

Want to stay in your own backyard? Emporia State has partnership programs with Butler Community College, Johnson County Community College, and Kansas City Kansas Community College, allowing students to complete the Elementary Education program without relocating.


The JCCC/ESU program is designed as a four-year degree completion program.  Students complete the first two years of general education and preparatory education courses through JCCC.

This program is perfect for working adults both inside and outside the K-6 educational arena. Courses are conveniently offered in the late afternoons and evenings, as well as online during your first year of study, suited for individuals who are balancing school, life, and work. During the second year of study, individuals will participate in ESU’s award winning Professional Development Schools.

The program is designed for individuals who hold a number of applicable undergraduate level courses or an Associate of Arts degree from an accredited institution. In addition the program was created for individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree and would like to obtain a second bachelor’s degree or obtain Kansas Teacher Certification.
