  • A new Overland Park MLS cohort begins each January, which is the spring semester.
  • Application materials are reviewed upon their receipt, and students are notified of their acceptance status as soon as decisions are made. The earlier all application materials are received, the earlier a decision can be made. Applications should be submitted by November 1st for Spring admission.
  • SLIM Overland Park students are admitted as a group (cohort).
  • Most classes are taught during two intensive weekends with online work spanning the entire semester.
  • Hours for classes are Fridays from 6-9 pm and Saturdays from 9 am – 5pm.
  • The director holds regular advising sessions scheduled immediately before class or over lunch during weekend intensives.
  • SLIM Overland Park students graduate with a Master of Library Science from Emporia State University. Emporia State University, located in Emporia, Kansas, is accredited by the American Library Association (ALA).
