Bachelor of Science, Concentration

For any student wanting to enter a career with technology or to pursue graduate studies in statistics, the mathematics major with a concentration in statistics is a perfect foundation.

Mathematics Education (Grades 5-8 and Grades 6-12)

Bachelor of Science in Education

The Bachelor of Science in Education-Mathematics allows students to be licensed teachers of mathematics in two grade bands, grades 5-8 and grades 6-12. These programs will prepare students to excel in their teaching career with hands-on learning experiences in and out of the classroom.

    Seven mathematics students were initiated into ESU’s Kappa Mu Epsilon (KME) chapter on March 8, 2022. KME is a national mathematics honor society. Professors and students enjoyed a meal together at Pizza Ranch after the ceremony.

    Students and professors from the Department of Mathematics & Economics held a joke-telling competition to celebrate Pi Day on March 10, 2022. Students and professors shared their favorite math or economics joke with each other. Circular snacks were served during the event as well.

    The Department of Mathematics and Economics held a scholarship ceremony in the fall of 2021 to recognize students for their accomplishments. The department awarded $44,000 to students for their hard work. The group played Torus Bingo during the festivities.

The Brighton Math Lab offers free assistance to all students enrolled in mathematics courses at ESU. We provide help with homework, preparation for course exams, and guidance for competency exams, such as the APT and CAAP tests.
