  • SLIM Sioux Falls students are admitted as a group (cohort).
  • A new Sioux Falls cohort begins each August, which is the fall semester.
  • Application materials are reviewed upon their receipt, and students are notified of their acceptance status as soon as decisions are made. The earlier all application materials are received, the earlier a decision can be made. Applications should be submitted by July 1st for fall admission.
  • Required classes are taught during two intensive weekends with online work spanning the entire semester. Electives are taught online; some are offered with weekend intensive instruction.
  • Hours for classes are Fridays from 6-9 pm and Saturdays from 9am – 5pm.
  • SLIM Sioux Falls offers Elementary and Secondary School Library Endorsement through specific coursework. The Coursework Is Outlined Here: Elementary and Secondary School Library Endorsement for South Dakota Students.pdf.
  • SLIM Sioux Falls students graduate with a Master of Library Science from Emporia State University. Emporia State University, located in Emporia, Kansas, is accredited by the American Library Association (ALA).
