Information for Academic Advisers
You have an integral role in supporting students in succeeding at Emporia State. The courses offered in Leadership Studies can also contribute to each student’s success.
Whether students would benefit from LR 170: Principles of Leadership—an in-depth introductory course, or LR 111: Leading with Purpose—a focused half-semester course, you have options to help them identify what they’re ready for next. Your students can also enroll and successfully complete the Minor in Leadership.
General Education requirements are fulfilled by one course currently, and a second proposed course in the Leadership Studies curriculum:
‘VII. Personal & Social Well-Being’ — fulfilled by LR 170: Principles of Leadership
‘VI. Multicultural Perspectives’ — fulfilled by LR 280: Leadership in a Diverse Society
Assisting a student in enrolling in the Minor in Leadership is easy. Simply provide them the enrollment form compiled especially for the Minor in Leadership Studies, or a generic form also works. Once completed, submit it to the Office of the Registrar. We invite all students to meet with a Leadership Studies adviser, with regular sessions available on the advising schedule.
