Job Description: Teach courses in Latin American and World literature and culture and World/Comparative literature (e.g. Asian or African, etc.) Normal teaching load of twelve hours/semester, including Latin American literature and culture as well as courses in the candidate's world literature specialization. Teaching, scholarly activity, and service required. Conduct Latin American surveys and design new courses in Latin American Postmodern issues including Central American literature; attend faculty meetings, advise students; participate in department service committees/community, and attend U.S. and international conferences.

Qualifications: The Assistant Professor must have a PhD in Romance Languages with concentration in Latin American Culture and fluency in the Romance Languages. ABDs with a years’ teaching experience are also acceptable.
