Application for Membership

Priority Application Deadline for Fall 2019:  May 15, 2019

Applications for Fall 2019 admission may be submitted beginning January 1, 2019. Priority deadline for membership is May 15, 2019.

To participate in the program, entering freshmen must have an ACT composite score of 26 or higher OR a high school GPA of 3.5 or better. Students transferring from other colleges or ESU students who have completed at least one semester of college must have a GPA of 3.5 or better.

Applicants must also write two short essays of about 300 words each. The first must describe what you hope to gain from participation in the Honors College and what you might contribute. The second should describe what being an agent of change for the common good means to you.

To apply for FALL 2019, you may submit the electronic form below or print out the application form, fill it out, and mail it along with the essays to the address shown on the form. Please direct questions to the Honors College Office at (620) 341-5899 or

You may contact the Residential Life office at 620-341-5264 to apply to live on the Honors Floor in the Residence Halls.

Please ensure that all fields of the application below are filled out correctly before submitting to ensure submission of your form. Applications missing critical information (essays, GPA, ACT, complete addresses, etc.) will not be considered.
