Center for STUDENT INVOLVEMENT

Associated Student Government

WANT TO BECOME INVOLVED WITH ASSOCIATED STUDENT GOVERNMENT?

Associated Student Government is a great way to become involved on the Emporia State campus and in the community. You will meet new people, learn about different Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) on campus, interact with constituents from your college that you represent, and help represent the student body by being an active voice. Want to become involved with ASG? Don't hesitate to contact us and take the steps TODAY!

Requirements for a Senator:

As a Senator, you will be expected to attend regular Associated Student Government meetings, which are planned every other Thursday at 5:15pm during the semester. Senators will also be able to choose from one of three committees to be a part of, which are Fiscal Affairs, Campus and Community Relations, and Senate Operations. Attending committee meetings will also be part of a Senator's duties as well as coming into the office for one hour per week for an office hour to contact their constituents and work on things for their committee or the organization as a whole.

Here's how to become involved:

You can fill out an application to be appointed as a Senator for the 2013-2014 year. We are STILL TAKING applications for this year and there are openings in the following areas:

  • School of Business
  • The Teachers College
  • Graduate School
  • Senator at Large
