Sociology, Anthropology, Crime & Delinquency Studies Scholarships

Scholarships available for students

  • J. Jack & Mary W. Melhorn Scholarship*: Established by J. Jack & Mary Melhorn in 1984, this fund provides scholarships to students majoring in Sociology or Anthropology.

  • Gary & Ranae Wyatt Fund: Established in 2016 by Gary & Ranae Wyatt, the purpose of this fund is to provide scholarship assistance to outstanding Emporia State University undergraduate students having a GPA of 3.25 or higher with first preference to Sociology majors and second preference to Crime & Delinquency Studies majors.

  • Sociology & Anthropology Scholarship*: Established by Sociology & Anthropology as a departmental fund in 1981, and amended in 2001, to be used for scholarships only, this fund provides renewable scholarships for worthy students majoring in Sociology who are a Freshman with a minimum ACT score of 27 or a Sophomore, Junior or Senior with a minimum 3.5 GPA.

  • Departmental Freshmen Scholarship: $250 scholarship for Sociology or CDS freshmen that have successfully completed Intro. to Sociology or Intro. to Criminal Justice. Students must have at least a 2.5 gpa and financial need.

* Valued resources which support Sociology and Anthropology students participating in our Presidential Scholarship Program; thus, no application is required
