Each year more than $45,000 in departmental scholarships is available to our students from 13 funds. More than 90 percent of qualified applicants receive one or more of these scholarships. Awards often range from $500 to $2000.
Mathematics and Economics students have also been successful in receiving the esteemed Shepherd Scholarship and Endly Scholarship from ESU.
Incoming Students:
As an incoming freshman or transfer student, you may be eligible to become a Huntley or Simpson Scholar. These renewable scholarships are $2000 per year . They can be stacked with the ESU Presidential Scholarship. Please note that scholarship eligibility requires a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.75. Scholarships are renewable if you maintain a 3.5 GPA while at ESU and a major in the department.
Incoming students who don’t receive this award may also be eligible for scholarships ranging from $500 to $1500 per year.
Students should complete the general ESU scholarship application first and then they will see the Math/Econ application.
Returning Students:
Even if you applied for a scholarship in a previous year, you need to apply for the current academic year.
Students should complete the general ESU scholarship application first and then they will see the Math/Econ application.
Additional Scholarships:
Occasionally the department offers mini scholarships ($100 each) for students who can solve a problem.
