Program description

The Social Sciences Education track is specifically designed for teachers. Students on this track produce a teaching project rather than a thesis.

Degree requirements

Graduate students working toward an MA in History will undertake intensive study of a particular era in history through readings seminars, research seminars, internships, and other coursework as appropriate, culminating in an original research project, examinations, or a pedagogy and content-based project. Historian and retired professor Joyce Thierer assumes the persona of her great, great grandmother to convey what life was like for women in the early days of settlement in Kansas, specifically around the rural community of Volland.
