Bachelor of Arts, English
The Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English prepares students for careers in many fields that require strong writing and research skills, clear thinking, and creativity. Within the BA-English program, students will explore literary texts from around the world and throughout history, develop their writing and reasoning abilities, and have the opportunity to dig deeper into their own interests in the fields of literature, language, and writing.
The BA degree requires a minor or second program of study in addition to the English major. Many English majors choose minors in Creative Writing or Journalism. Other English majors choose minors in different areas, such as Sociology, Business, Art, and Psychology, or design a personalized second program of study using classes from multiple areas.
