Morgan Ford Willingham is a photographic artist and educator. After receiving a MFA in photography from Texas Woman’s University, she moved to the Midwest to pursue a career in academia and art making. Morgan explores pop culture, advertising, and historical representations to better understand their influence on women and their self-image. A continuing thread throughout the work she creates centers around the construct of identity through the use of various mediums, including photography, book arts, and installation. Though addressing contemporary beauty and identity-related issues, her work is heavily informed by historical artworks from Ancient Greece and the Renaissance. Her work has been widely exhibited, including Humble Arts Gallery in NYC, Filter Photo in Chicago, and the Hite Institute of Art in Louisville, KY. She is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Art at ESU, where she teaches photography, intro to digital design, and book arts.
