The Wildlife Society is committed to a world where humans and wildlife co-exist.
We work to ensure that wildlife and their habitats are conserved through management actions that take into careful consideration relevant scientific information.
We create opportunities for this to occur by involving professional wildlife managers, disseminating wildlife science, advocating for effective wildlife policy, and building the active support of an informed citizenry.
TWS’s mission is to represent and serve the professional community of scientists, managers, educators, technicians, planners, and others who work actively to study, manage, and conserve wildlife and its habitats worldwide.
The members of The Wildlife Society manage, conserve, and study wildlife populations and habitats. They actively manage forests, conserve wetlands, restore endangered species, conserve wildlife on private and public lands, resolve wildlife damage and disease problems, and enhance biological diversity.
WHERE WE ARE:
The student chapter office is located in the Biology Department Office (Breukelman Science Hall 174). We also maintain a bulletin board in the basement floor of the Science Hall near the Schmidt Museum of Natural History.
ESU students interested in wildlife and/or fisheries biology and management are welcome to join the ESU Student Chapter as an Associate or Full Member. Students can join at any time during the year.
We meet monthly and occasionally on weekends for special events. Check out fliers in the Science hall for meetings dates and times.
Meetings are held in room 46 in the Science Hall. Special meeting locations will be announced during regular meetings.
Events include professional and social activities, guest speakers at chapter meetings, and local service projects. See student projects and activities link.
