April 9, 2020: Campus Activities + Return to Work Information
Communication from ESU Executive Policy Group
April 9, 2020
Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,
We are all aware of how dynamic and unpredictable COVID-19 has been, especially when it comes to planning ahead. We continue to monitor the situation closely with insight from local, state and national resources.
Provost Cordle communicated earlier this week that summer courses that start before June 26 will be offered as remote instruction. In line with that, all on-campus events that are already on the calendar through June 26 are canceled and will not be rescheduled.
Conference and Scheduling will reach out to event organizers with additional information. In addition, all campus buildings — except the Student Wellness Center — remain closed to the public until further notice.
The Student Wellness Center, which includes Health Services and Counseling Services and Corky’s Cupboard distribution, are available for students. See here for information on hours.
We appreciate the stress that comes with uncertainty. We have received several inquiries about when we can return to campus. At this time, we do not know when that will be. We continue to look to public health authorities as we make our decisions. We will continue to update you and give at least one week’s notice before we return to our campus offices. When that decision comes, we also will provide information about ways to use that week to prepare to return to campus.
As we continue to move forward with our current goal of completing the spring 2020 semester, we appreciate that all of Hornet Nation has pulled together in ways that underscore ESU’s values of excellence, respect, responsibility, leadership and community.
Like you, we look forward to the day we can be together again.
