Fellow Hornets,

An ever-changing environment brings many questions and concerns. Recently, we have been receiving questions regarding the possibility of the Campus Activity Fee (CAF) being credited to student accounts.

As COVID-19 evolves, we want you all to stay informed. We hope the following message answers this question.

The Executive Policy Group discussed the possibilities of a partial CAF credit, however, due to the following circumstances it has been decided to not issue credits to student accounts.

  1. Fee collecting areas are still conducting operations and still require financial support. These operations may look different since they are being done remotely.
  2. These fee collecting areas are paying the student salaries until the end of the semester or until the end of the appointment, which was communicated by the university, thus requiring the full CAF revenue.

We hope that this answers your questions as to why the CAF will not be credited to student accounts for the Spring 2020 semester. We know that challenges will continue to come up, so it’s important to face them with an adaptive mindset.
