A renewable $5,000 scholarship
Emporia State University already has the lowest student debt for public four-year universities in Kansas, and with a renewable $5,000 Sunflower Scholarship in hand, you can be that much closer to total financial freedom after graduation. The scholarship is for incoming freshmen, transfer and international undergraduate students eligible for out-of-state tuition rates.
The Sunflower Scholarship is available to full-time* domestic and international undergraduate students who are not eligible for reduced tuition based on geographic location. Students classified as NEARR, MSEP, or Corky +, and those with international agreements are not eligible.
Freshmen. New, first-time freshmen students are eligible if they have scored at least a 21 or higher on the ACT, a 980 on the SAT, or an equivalent score on another recognized exam and have a 2.5 unweighted GPA or higher.
Transfer Students. New transfer students are eligible if they have at least 24 transferable credit hours and have a 2.5 GPA or higher.
The Sunflower Scholarship can be renewed for a total of six subsequent semesters after the first year for freshman students and two subsequent semesters after the first year for transfer students, as long as the student completes at least 12 credit hours and earns a 2.0 GPA or higher.
