Steve & Monica Coen Scholarship
An opportunity for students in need-based situations
The Steve & Monica Coen Scholarship will be awarded to students who come from underrepresented populations, students raised in poverty, those struggling to attend college because of family situations, those at-risk, and/or non-documented students.
Steve Coen received a B.S.B. in Business Administration from Emporia State University in 1976. While a student at ESU he was involved in Associated Student Government and the Blue Key Honor Fraternity. He received a Juris Doctorate in 1980 from Washburn University. He is the President/CEO of the Kansas Health Foundation in Wichita, KS. Steve and his wife Monica have committed their lives to improving the health of Kansans, particularly the underserved, and have a passion for helping those who may not have the financial resources to pursue a dream in higher education.
- Student must be:
- From Stafford County, KS or;
- From Sedgwick County, KS or;
- Recipient of the Cindy Coen Scholarship Fund at South Central KS Community Foundation.
- Meet at least one of the descriptors on the application
- Have financial need
This is scholarship is available for incoming or current undergraduate students at ESU. Deadline: February 28, 2020
